What can California learn from Sweden’s world class public transit?

September 11, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Sweden has significantly increased public transit use over the past two decades, and has reduced emissions of transportation by 23% between 2005 and 2019. Now, responding to the pandemic, Sweden is looking into how to reimagine public transit for the future. Transit leaders from Sweden’s three largest regions, visiting California as part of a study delegation on emerging mobility, will share some of the lessons from successful Swedish public transit, and how the country is approaching the opportunity of new forms of transportation to support public mobility goals.

Panelists will include senior executives from:

  • Trafikförvaltningen (Public transport administration of Stockholm )
  • Västra Götaland (Regional Council of Gothenberg)
  • Skånetrafiken (Region of Skåne – Malmo)

Space is limited; registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
