Transit to the Beach, North Bay Edition

Celebrate the end of summer at Stinson Beach, one of Marin County’s well-kept secrets, with a picnic (and swimming, if you’d like). You can bring your own food or buy some next to the beach, and you can get there by transit, even on a weekend! (An optional excursion further afield to Bolinas is available. Note: capacity limit of 20 due to small buses used on the line to West Marin.)

Sunday, September 17th 

Meeting time before noon at Bay & Bridgeway stop near Sausalito Ferry Terminal (bus to Stinson Beach leaves Sausalito at 11:55am, Marin City at 12:10pm). 

Return to Marin City and Sausalito with 3:42pm bus from Stinson Beach (later trips leaving at 5:07pm and 6:47pm also available

The itinerary will be as follows:

• Between 10:30am and 11:45am: meetup in Downtown Sausalito at Lappert’s Ice Cream (689 Bridgeway, Sausalito, CA 94965). Your host will be waiting for the tour participants coming from Golden Gate Ferry arriving from San Francisco at 11:05am and Golden Gate Transit Route 130 arriving from San Rafael at 11:27am. Participants coming from Route 130 arriving from San Francisco at 11:49am, please proceed directly to the Bay & Bridgeway stop for Routes 17 and 61, a 1-minute walk from Bridgeway & Bay.

• At 11:55am, we will board the Marin Transit Route 61 bus heading to Bolinas from Bay & Bridgeway, dropping off at Stinson Beach at 1:02pm.

Upon arrival in Stinson Beach, feel free to soak up the coastal breeze, take a dip in the ocean, and grab a meal from one of these eateries as we will have a picnic at the beach:
