Let’s get ready for November 5, 2024!

Welcome to the San Francisco Transit Riders Candidate Questionnaires! We’re keeping transit front and center for the candidates, so whoever wins, we hope to keep them focused on making transit better for all San Franciscans.

San Francisco Mayor

San Francisco’s next mayor will be voted in this November. The mayor has a lot of influence to shape the future of transit in San Francisco. Read what each candidate thinks that might look like, and help us hold them accountable to make transit awesome.

Board of Supervisors, District 1

San Francisco’s District 1 includes the Richmond District and Seacliff.

Board of Supervisors, District 3

San Francisco’s District 3 includes North Beach, Chinatown, Union Square/Financial District and Russian, Nob and Telegraph Hills.

Board of Supervisors, District 5

San Francisco’s District 5 includes the Tenderloin, Japantown, Western Addition, Haight Ashbury and Hayes Valley.

Board of Supervisors, District 7

San Francisco’s District 7 includes the Inner Sunset, West Portal, Forest Hill and Parkmerced.

Board of Supervisors, District 9

San Francisco’s District 9 includes the Mission, Bernal Heights and the Portola.

Board of Supervisors, District 11

San Francisco’s District 11 includes Excelsior, Oceanview and Outer Mission.

BART Board, District 7

BART District 7 counties includes Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco. The city boundaries include Albany, Bayview, Berkeley, Crockett, East Richmond Heights, El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Emeryville, Hercules, Kensington, Montalvin Manor, North Richmond, Oakland, Pinole, Richmond, Rodeo, Rollingwood, San Francisco, San Pablo, and Tara Hills.

BART Board, District 9

BART Boundaries District 9 includes San Francisco.

State Senate, District 11

District 11 includes San Francisco, Daly City, Colma, Broadmoor, and parts of South San Francisco.

State Assembly, District 17

District 17 includes the county of San Francisco.

State Assembly, District 19

District 19 includes the counties of San Francisco and San Mateo.

United States Representative, District 11

District 11 includes most of San Francisco with exception of the Excelsior District, Visitacion Valley, Portola, and Ocean View on the city’s southern edge.

United States Representative, District 15

District 15 includes most of San Mateo County and the southeast side of San Francisco. Cities in the district include Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Foster City, San Carlos, Belmont, Redwood City and East Palo Alto.

Community College Board

The CCSF Board of Trustees is composed of seven members elected by the voters of the Community College District and a student representative.

Elected officials at every level of government in the Bay Area can play a vital role in making it easier, safer, and greener for more people to get in and around our communities. How we get around and the barriers we face in that process affect nearly every aspect of our lives like housing, healthcare, economic development, safety, education, and much more. The “Sustainable Transportation Questionnaire” was sent to candidates running for town/city council, Mayor, AC Transit Director, BART Director, County Supervisor, State Assembly, State Senate, and House of Representative positions in all Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties in order to help educate people voting in the November 2024 General Election.
