Hi SFTR Members & the Transit Community,

It’s with a mix of emotions that I’ll be stepping down as SF Transit Riders’ Community Organizer. It’s been an incredible couple of years of learning and connecting with transit advocates and community members across San Francisco. However, starting this fall, I will begin my first semester at Santa Clara University’s School of Law.

My time with San Francisco Transit Riders has been filled with incredible experiences and impactful projects. I’m especially proud of leading the 2023 Transit Month Kickoff Rally & Ride Along where we brought together Senator Scott Wiener, Mayor London Breed, the entire San Francisco Board of Supervisors, and other community leaders to speak on behalf of public transportation and commit to improvements.

Equally rewarding was the work to expand SFTR’s transit advocacy into the Bayview neighborhood through events like Sunday Streets and projects like SFMTA’s Bayview Shuttle. Building relationships with San Francisco’s southeast side communities is key in our work to create a more interconnected and sustainable city. SFTR is committed to continuing this work long-term and forming relationships throughout the city. I’m very proud to have led the charge.

While I’ll be trading in community organizing to study case law, I want to clarify: that this isn’t my goodbye to the transit community. SFTR’s work is more important than ever, and I’m deeply committed to the dream of improved transit service and access in San Francisco and the Bay Area.

In the meantime, I’ll be cheering you all on from the sidelines. SFTR is in fantastic hands, and I have no doubt you’ll keep up the fight for a more accessible transportation system.

I want to thank the entire SFTR team, the Board of Directors, and most importantly, the incredible ridership community. It’s been an honor working alongside you all.
