SUMMARY:Transit Equity Day
DESCRIPTION:On the week of Wednesday\, February 4th\, 2026\, join the Labor Network for Sustainability & Transit Equity Network for Transit Equity Day 2026: Transit Moves Democracy–a national day of action and storytelling that lifts up workers\, riders\, and communities fighting for just\, accessible\, and fully funded public transit. \nFor this year’s Transit Equity Day\, our theme is: Transit Moves Democracy. Join the Labor Network for Sustainability as we center worker and community voices as leaders in the fight for just and equitable transit–highlighting the shared interests of riders\, communities\, workers\, and the planet for fully-funded\, robust\, accessible\, and electrified transit systems. \nWith increased violence and threats to our public life at the federal level\, public transportation does not stand solely as a service. Public transit resists authoritarian strategies that cut routes\, privatize systems\, and bust unions as a way of weakening workers and disenfranchising communities. Transit connects communities when fascists want us to be increasingly more disconnected. Every bus line defended is a vote defended. Every contract fought is for democracy protection. Transit Equity is climate justice in practice\, and public transit is frontline climate infrastructure.

SUMMARY:Signature Gathering at Crane Cove Park in San Francisco
DESCRIPTION:Join us to start gathering signatures for Connect Bay Area\, the five-county regional transit funding measure! \nWe will meet at 11am in front of Crane Cove Park at the intersection of 18th St & Illinois for a quick training and to hand out petition supplies. Everyone is welcome to reconvene near the end of the event to share learnings\, or you can head out and return your completed petitions another day! \nTo see the most friendly faces and to join the group training session\, plan to meet at the event start time. But if you’ve already attended a training (or if you complete online training in advance by reading our training guide then completing this form)\, you can stop by anytime before the end of the event to drop off completed petitions and/or pick up new ones. If you are coming only for petition exchange\, please plan to exchange at 11:30am or later. Your RSVP is helpful either way. \nNo experience necessary. You just need to be 18 years old to gather signatures.  If you’re under 18\, let us know at connectbayarea26@gmail.com as there are many other ways to be involved and help! \n*** \nTo avoid devastating Bay Area transit service cuts\, we need to gather over 200\,000 signatures to get Connect Bay Area Transit\, the five-county regional transit funding measure\, on the ballot. Learn more at https://connectbayarea.com/.
