DESCRIPTION:A FREE street party bringing live music\, all-ages activities\, DJs\, drag\, outdoor bars\, food trucks\, and the biggest disco ball west of the Mississippi to 2nd Street is back on August 1. This past month saw unprecedented crowds pour into San Francisco’s Downtown for July 4\, and August’s Downtown First Thursday is set to continue to grow the event into a must-attend celebration. \nThe August 1st edition of DFT will feature a DJ set by Special Guest Performer Vandelux as part of an Outside Lands Warm-Up presented by Another Planet Entertainment from 7-9pm on Howard and 2nd Street. \nDFT is FREE with RSVP: Free tickets for August 1 available here.

SUMMARY:MTC Select Committee: Constructing the Path Forward
DESCRIPTION:Some Select Committee members see a sales tax as the path of least resistance\, so we need to show up and show them that while we might not be well-funded\, we are organized and opposed to regressive taxes that will harm working families! \nAt this meeting\, the Select Committee will be weighing in on various regional measure scenarios to study. Please join your fellow VPT members at the meeting to advocate for a scenario that is progressively funded and covers all nine Bay Area Counties. We know that being timid will only be harmful — that what Bay Area voters actually want is a measure that will transform public transit into a system that actually works! Now we just need to convince the Select Committee and we are going to need all hands on deck to do that.
