DESCRIPTION:San Francisco Transit Riders\, Walk San Francisco\, and the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition are proud to host a member event with Mike Chen\, Mayor Breed’s latest nominee to the SFMTA Board. If you are a member of any of these organizations\, come join us on Tuesday\, July 2nd\, from 6:00-7:30pm\, over Zoom! \nMike is a data engineer with a history of working in the internet industry in marketing and product analytics. Mike joined the SFMTA Citizens’ Advisory Council in January 2020 and served as its Chair from July 2021 through July 2023. Mike is a frequent rider of Muni lines 1\, 38 and 49\, and uses both his own e-bike and bikeshare to get around the city. An advocate for housing\, transportation\, and urbanist causes\, Mike has been an organizer in his neighborhood and a volunteer lead for YIMBY Action. \nHave questions for Board Nominee Chen? DESCRIPTION:A FREE street party bringing live music\, all-ages activities\, DJs\, drag\, outdoor bars\, food trucks\, and the biggest disco ball west of the Mississippi to 2nd Street is back on July 4. Tens of thousands of people attended the first two DFTs\, and this holiday weekend is set to see big crowds fill the streets again. \nThe July 4 edition of DFT will feature Special Guest Performers Coco and Breezy\, a Glow in the Dark Parade at 9:00pm\, and a hot dog eating contest hosted by local drag legend Peaches Christ.
