SUMMARY:Muni Forever Summit
DESCRIPTION:We invite San Franciscans to join us for the Muni Forever Summit and help shape a citywide vision for Muni \nThe summit aims to create the building blocks to build that vision and begin a movement to achieve it.\n\nAt the summit\, expect to: \nLearn about the need to better fund Muni\n\nSFMTA is facing a $322 million deficit starting in summer 2026. An operational deficit existing prior to the pandemic but exacerbated by it. \nAn opportunity to change how we fundamentally fund transit to have room for expansion of services. \n\nBuild a citywide vision for Muni\n\nIf we fund Muni\, what services and programs should it provide at a minimum? \nWhat expansion is needed? \nWhat is achievable and by when? \n\nBuild the movement\n\nWe need you to go back to your community and/or expand to other communities to inform and get input to build a citywide vision for transit that is beneficial for everyone. To help fund transit\, we need a vision on what to fund that we can all get behind \n\nThis event is hosted by the Muni Now\, Muni Forever Campaign. For more info go to muniforever.org. \nThere will be light food and refreshments on site. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. \nA zoom link will be provided on the day of the summit for people participating remotely. \nSee you there!

SUMMARY:Transit Month
DESCRIPTION:Start your next adventure on transit!\n\n\n\n\nPublic transportation is more than just a means of transportation. Transit connects communities\, increases mobility\, maintains our healthy environment\, and opens opportunities to discover something new. \nFor this year’s Transit Month\, San Francisco Transit Riders (SFTR) and Seamless Bay Area (SBA) are challenging everyone to hop on board to discover new adventures they can access through transit.  \nWe’re continuing our annual tradition of celebrating the buses\, trains\, operators\, and riders that make the wonderful Bay Area transit system we all know and ride. Public transit is essential to thriving cities and the people who make those cities special. It is more important than ever before that we show our elected leaders how important transit is to our riders and that we need to continue funding it. Let’s prove that to them this Transit Month by getting out and taking transit! \nAnd don’t forget to join our Ride Contest! Each ride you log will enter you into a raffle for some amazing transit-themed prizes provided by our wonderful Bay Area Transit Agencies.

SUMMARY:Muni Heritage Weekend - Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Our annual tradition is back! This year’s Heritage Weekend gives you the chance to ride vintage transit vehicles that rarely make an appearance on San Francisco’s streets. Look out for classics like the Boat Tram\, the Milan and Melbourne streetcars\, and the 1896 “Dinky.” \nAll rides begin at the plaza across from the San Francisco Railway Museum\, just steps from the Ferry Building and Embarcadero Plaza. From there\, vintage buses and special excursion cars will head out for round-trip journeys. \nBe sure to stop by the museum during your visit. Inside you’ll find exhibits on transit history along with our gift shop\, and the Muni Store will be setting up a special pop-up with even more transit-themed gear.

SUMMARY:Transit Equity Day
DESCRIPTION:On the week of Wednesday\, February 4th\, 2026\, join the Labor Network for Sustainability & Transit Equity Network for Transit Equity Day 2026: Transit Moves Democracy–a national day of action and storytelling that lifts up workers\, riders\, and communities fighting for just\, accessible\, and fully funded public transit. \nFor this year’s Transit Equity Day\, our theme is: Transit Moves Democracy. Join the Labor Network for Sustainability as we center worker and community voices as leaders in the fight for just and equitable transit–highlighting the shared interests of riders\, communities\, workers\, and the planet for fully-funded\, robust\, accessible\, and electrified transit systems. \nWith increased violence and threats to our public life at the federal level\, public transportation does not stand solely as a service. Public transit resists authoritarian strategies that cut routes\, privatize systems\, and bust unions as a way of weakening workers and disenfranchising communities. Transit connects communities when fascists want us to be increasingly more disconnected. Every bus line defended is a vote defended. Every contract fought is for democracy protection. Transit Equity is climate justice in practice\, and public transit is frontline climate infrastructure.
