DESCRIPTION:San Francisco\, CA – After a wildly successful event launch on May 2 that drew thousands into the streets of downtown San Francisco and made the neighborhood jump to life\, DFT (Downtown First Thursdays) is set to return to 2nd Street between Market and Howard Streets on June 6 from 5-10pm for more FREE\, all-ages fun in the streets. \nLast month\, thousands of families\, workers\, neighbors\, partygoers and curious  passers-by kicked off the inaugural street party\, which is on its way to becoming a monthly tradition for downtown neighborhoods and the rest of San Francisco. \nThe FREE event series aims to kick off a new era of civic pride\, bring thousands of people downtown every month\, and uplift local businesses\, vendors\, musicians\, and cultural organizations. Attendees can expect free kids activities\, food and retail vendors\, live music\, DJs\, two outdoor bars\, dozens of restaurants and bars on the block to enjoy\, a giant disco ball hanging from a crane\, drag\, street fashion\, and many more surprises that are “so S.F.”

Mike is a frequent rider of Muni lines 1\, 38 and 49\, and uses both his own e-bike and bikeshare to get around the city. An advocate for housing\, transportation\, and urbanist causes\, Mike has been an organizer in his neighborhood and a volunteer lead for YIMBY Action. \nHave questions for Board Nominee Chen? DESCRIPTION:Some Select Committee members see a sales tax as the path of least resistance\, so we need to show up and show them that while we might not be well-funded\, we are organized and opposed to regressive taxes that will harm working families! \nAt this meeting\, the Select Committee will be weighing in on various regional measure scenarios to study. Please join your fellow VPT members at the meeting to advocate for a scenario that is progressively funded and covers all nine Bay Area Counties. We know that being timid will only be harmful — that what Bay Area voters actually want is a measure that will transform public transit into a system that actually works! Now we just need to convince the Select Committee and we are going to need all hands on deck to do that.

The September 5th edition of Downtown San Francisco’s already-beloved street party will feature a 60+ person orchestra\, ballet\, breakdance\, whirling dervishes\, a second line brass band\, live jazz on an open air F-Train\, and DJs (including San Francisco’s own\, the legendary Spencer Brown) that will keep attendees of all ages dancing in the streets. \nA new\, expanded outdoor drinking area at DFT means drinks are on the move\, too! Take your beer or cocktails purchased at outdoor bars (at 2nd and Stevenson Street  and  2nd and Natoma Street) roaming throughout the DFT footprint. \nPlus\, a transformed F-Train will get attendees moving between DFT’s street party on 2nd Street and UNSTAGED. Live on Mid-Market—a new\,  free\, interactive\, live performance experience on Market Street between 5th and 6th Street produced by Market Street Arts featuring a vertical dance performance by Bandaloop and dozens of other activations. Celebrate Transit Month in style and travel between UNSTAGED. and DFT on the  F-Train as it becomes a mobile jazz venue\, the Hotsy Totsy Club\, created by Building 180 in collaboration with Mystic Midway. (UNSTAGED.
