Join Seamless Bay Area and Dr Austin Elliott of the USGS for a car-free tour of the Hayward Fault in Fremont. Learn how planning for transit and other infrastructure has been influenced by geological hazards\, and tap into a wealth of resources to continue exploring on your own. This is the first of two tours of regional geology by transit: be sure to also check out the San Francisco tour later in the month. \nMeet at Fremont BART station \nMain tour route is accessible\, but optional extra excursion to aqueduct may be difficult for those with reduced mobility.

SUMMARY:Transit to the Beach\, North Bay Edition
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the end of summer at Stinson Beach\, one of Marin County’s well-kept secrets\, with a picnic (and swimming\, if you’d like). You can bring your own food or buy some next to the beach\, and you can get there by transit\, even on a weekend! (An optional excursion further afield to Bolinas is available. Note: capacity limit of 20 due to small buses used on the line to West Marin.) \nSunday\, September 17th  \nMeeting time before noon at Bay & Bridgeway stop near Sausalito Ferry Terminal (bus to Stinson Beach leaves Sausalito at 11:55am\, Marin City at 12:10pm).  \nReturn to Marin City and Sausalito with 3:42pm bus from Stinson Beach (later trips leaving at 5:07pm and 6:47pm also available \nThe itinerary will be as follows: \n\nBetween 10:30am and 11:45am: meetup in Downtown Sausalito at Lappert’s Ice Cream (689 Bridgeway\, Sausalito\, CA 94965).
