Welcome to the San Francisco Transit Riders election guide! We’re keeping transit front and center for the candidates, so whoever wins, we hope to keep them focused on making transit better for all San Franciscans. (And please, make sure you’re registered to vote!)
San Francisco's next mayor will be voted in on June 5th to serve the remainder of Mayor Lee’s term, which is through 2020. The mayor has a lot of influence to shape the future of transit in San Francisco. Read what each candidate thinks that might look like, and help us hold them accountable to make transit awesome.
District 8 includes the Castro, Noe Valley, Liberty Heights, Eureka Valley, Corona Heights, Mission Dolores, Duboce Triangle, Diamond Heights, and more. If you live in this district—or even if you don't—see what each candidate will do for transit in D8.
With Bay Area traffic up 80% since 2010, we need all hands on deck to find solutions. RM3 provides funds for new BART trains, extending BART, relieving freeway bottlenecks, expanding ferry service, planning for a second Transbay rail crossing, and improving Caltrain & SMART service, among other things.
